Karate is a very positive after-school alternative for your young family member age 4 and up. We foster a safe community atmosphere where kids are encouraged to focus and hone their skills, to respect their peers and their seniors. The young people work hard for a goal and feel the thrill of empowerment once they've reached it. In Karate, we practice techniques that can help your children assert themselves without bullying and feel more confident in their daily lives.

For your four, five and six year olds we offer Pre-Karate classes taught by Sensei Jaye, a former preschool teacher. These 45 minute sessions introduce young people to the discipline of Karate training without harsh militarism. This age group needs to run around and then sit still, to punch and kick without bullying and to practice being strong leaders and good followers. Your child will enjoy earning stickers and stripes for their accomplishments.

Youth Karate Free Intro

Besides the rigorous fun of blocking, hitting and kicking, running, pushups and situps, we offer you a place where your child will learn and practice respect for him or herself, for elders and for each other. Martial Arts also teaches youth to set and achieve physical and mental goals. Students meet challenges and develop confidence. Your child will participate in performing in front of audiences to develop poise and self assurance. Realistic self defense skills will offer him or her tools to handle a bully or a more dangerous attacker. We meditate at the beginning and end of each session and the children say: "I focus my eyes. I focus my mind. I focus my body." This take-away translates into better concentration and performance outside of the walls of the studio.
